Severe weather caused the annual Leiper’s Fork Christmas Parade to be pushed back a day to Sunday, Dec. 12, but it didn’t dampen the holiday spirit.

Many showed up to claim their spot early in the morning, and by noon Sunday, both sides of Old Hillsboro Road from Southall Road south past Joseph Street were filled with thousands of people of all ages, from very young babies to 96-year-old Laura Stiff. The grand marshal was country music singer-songwriter Chris Janson. He was aboard a Cabela’s Bass Pro Shop speed boat handing out fishing rods and reels to youngsters. A surprise came when Amanda Shires, who put out a popular new Christmas album in 2021, sang a Christmas tune from the roof of Puckett’s.
