John Maher Builders has been Spring Hill’s number one homebuilder for over 30 years.
With meticulous attention to detail and on site involvement, John Maher Builders is committed to providing the best service to home buyers seeking quality, energy efficient homes.
John Maher Builders' mission is to develop distinctive communities where the foundations of its homes are built on integrity, quality, value, and unparalleled customer service before and after the sale.
John Maher is the founder and CEO of John Maher Builders (JMB). Following his graduation from MTSU in 1976, John moved to Franklin and began his career as a special education teacher and wrestling coach with the Franklin Special School District, where he served as an educator for ten years.
John developed a keen interest in homebuilding with the purchase of a how-to book in the 1980s. With the book acting as his guide, John built his first home in 1985 during a summer break from teaching. Not long after, John took a leap of faith and began building homes full-time.
Since the construction of his first home in 1985, John has built quite a legacy. Approximately one in every six families living in Spring Hill today lives in a JMB home or community. Spring Hill has been recognized as one of the fastest growing cities in the state of Tennessee. Located just south of Nashville, between Franklin and Columbia, Spring Hill offers residents the suburban feel with easy access to major attractions and amenities. Spring Hill’s rapid growth has led to new opportunities for economic expansion, community development, and improved quality of life for its residents. Its highly ranked schools, safe neighborhoods, and proximity to recreational activities are just a few reasons many families call Spring Hill home.
Helping families achieve the dream of home ownership and proudly serving the community is what JMB is all about. “Dedicating ourselves to getting to know our customers and understanding their needs allow us to deliver the exceptional quality, design, and satisfaction they deserve. We’re not just building homes; we’re building memories,” says founder John Maher. John and his team have worked hard to ensure homebuyers an enjoyable homebuilding experience and a home they can be proud of for many years.
JMB specializes in primarily single family homes with the addition of townhomes and condominiums across Williamson and Maury Counties. Of the more than 2,500 homes, each has been built upon the same foundation – quality craftsmanship and customer satisfaction. In following a customer-centric approach, JMB has earned homebuyers' confidence while delivering long lasting value.
JMB is excited to announce its latest development, August Park, Spring Hill’s first million-dollar community. Nestled in the heart of Williamson County, August Park is where upscale living meets small town charm. Each home is crafted with profound dedication to detail and premium features, including spacious floor plans, 3 car garages, outstanding trim work, and professional grade appliances. Other amenities include high ceilings, irrigation systems, a wide variety of granite options, large chandeliers, and a chef’s kitchen equipped with a 48” Wolf range.
After experiencing tremendous success and demand with Brixworth Seven, JMB looked to expand its floor plan designs to offer Spring Hill even more luxurious features to fit the area's changing demographics. According to the 2020 Census, Spring Hill’s population exploded from 2010-2020 with a population increase of just over 72 percent, making Spring Hill Tennessee’s fastest growing city over the last decade.
With the city’s population on the rise, Spring Hill has opened the door to more opportunities and amenities for its residents, many flocking to the area from states with a higher cost of living, such as California, New York, and the Chicago area.
Not only is Spring Hill ranked as one of the best places to raise a family in Middle Tennessee, but August Park is also just minutes away from shops and restaurants, including the highly anticipated June Lake residential and commercial development around the new I-65 interstate exchange that is scheduled to be completed in 2023. June Lake will be reminiscent of Cool Springs, bringing even more value to what Spring Hill has to offer.
JMB has always believed in putting the community at the forefront of what they do. With continued efforts to reinvest in Spring Hill and its surrounding areas through sponsorships, corporate donations, and athletic scholarships, John has always taken pride in showing his gratitude to the community.
This year marks JMB’s 15th year as the title sponsor for the Whole Hog Festival, benefitting The Well Outreach in combatting the hunger needs of Williamson and Maury Counties. The event will take place on October 8th at the historic Oaklawn Mansion in Spring Hill. JMB has also entered its 16th year partnering with the Williamson Herald in recognizing standout student athletes for their excellence on and off the field. Each year, two female and male scholar athletes are eligible for a $2,000 scholarship awarded by John and his wife, Margie Maher. JMB continues to be recognized as a community leader, having been presented with the Best in Business Award, Sponsor of the Year Award, Corporate Giving Award, Community Partner Award, and Best Builder Award.
