The African American Heritage Society of Williamson County celebrated closing on 264 Natchez St., known as the Merrill-Williams House, in Franklin in November with a celebration on the home’s front lawn. AAHS will create a heritage and public learning center at the location, which will allow the community to learn more about the historic Natchez District. Former owner Cassandra Williams Taylor spoke at the event, invoking her late mother and father.
